About Vintiquita Vintiquita is an online boutique for one-off vintage and costume jewellery pieces, home furnishings and other vintage treasures. We are steadily cataloguing and photographing our collections and will be adding new pieces each week. About Us How much does anyone want to know about the people they buy from, whose websites they visit, or whose blogs they read? Let’s guess some are more nosey than others. Some want to know your life history, others merely that you are reliable and honest. If you are one of the second kind, we are reliable and honest. You can skip the rest. It is my opinion that , frankly, photographs of bloggers can be off-putting – someone who comes across as a scatty collector of trifles may look like an overweight accountant in the pic. Of course, there is no reason why ones weight or occupation excludes one from being a scatty collector on ones own time but it may affect how they are read next time. This is an exaggerated example out of my own imagination and bears no resemblance to anyone living or dead etc, etc., Gillian. So, no pics, just some facts of which we are not ashamed. Third person stuff: Samantha is the mother of twin boys who are almost-but-not-quite seven, Gillian is the grandmother of them and the mother of Samantha. Samantha’s background is in lighting design. Gillian’s interest is in interior design. They do not jog. They are neither of them fashionistas. They like cats. They quite like dogs, but not with the same passion. They like floral things. They like iconic objects such as the renowned Eames chair. They like some modern art. They are interested in social and domestic history – oh, you know, how we lived then and what we put on the walls and the mantelpiece. Samantha is quite interested in politics*, Gillian thinks anyone who wants to be a politician should be automatically disqualified from becoming one. (*I’m also quite interested in reading my stars – but I don’t take those too seriously either!, Samantha.) It is not to be assumed that anything not included in the list above is something of which we are ashamed, it doesn’t work like that. We just think that’s enough to be going on with....
